Hi, I'm serious about purchasing a seven.
I've been to see a couple of cars for sale in LA. Both very different. Nice people selling their cars. I am looking for a professional mechanic or seven expert to advice and assess for me.
Also wanted to ask if anyone would do me the favour of letting me have a quick look at their car to help me get an appreciation of what a well cared for seven should be like. I am willing to travel a fair distance and would only take up 15 minutes of your time. I am interested in both caterham and Birkin.
Many thanks,

Hi,
Welcome to the forum! There are a number of active members in the LA area. I'm sure you'll hear from them shortly. One of the best things you can do is to come out to one of the events. You really want to get exposed to as many se7ens as possible - they are all unique.
Cheers,
Tom

I'm in the Newbury Park area, just NW of Los Angeles.
Come on up and we'll go for a drive.
This Sunday is Supercar Sunday in Calabasas, I'll post an event and try to get 3 or 4 of us out there so you can look at several.
This is convenient to some nice mountain roads plus breakfast at the Rock Store.

My car is waiting for a new radiator and a damper., but you are more than welcome to have a look at it in my garage. It is a bit beat up but is mechanically sound. Any weekend or weekday evening should do.

I am in the Pasadena Area with a Birkin S3. As it happens my car is not in pieces and even ready to drive. Send me a PM if you want to come along. I will see that I can make it to the Calabasas event but not sure yet.
BTW, I would not really call my Se7en "well-cared-for" but rather "well-used" ;-)

This thread sure makes me wish I'd posted here before I bought my car.
You're welcome to come by if you're close to Yorba Linda too. I have a Caterham Classic.
I doubt that I'll be able to make calabasas, but you never know.

OK prabjohns, you got us started to Super Car Sunday, hope you can make it.
If you are serious about a Seven there is no such thing as a 'quick' look.
Taking someone for a short ride is at least 45 minutes. Usually longer.
Not complaining, just warning you to set aside the time.

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate the great response everyone has given. Yes I'm sure I can make it to Calabasas am sunday and I'd love to pop round and visit everyone else at some point. Huge thanks again and apologies if I accidently posted twice, still getting the hang of this.

Hi there,
I wanted to say a big thank you to Doug, Randall, Stan, Gert (and his lovely wife) and Morgan for coming out to Supercar sunday and being so generous with your time and knowledge. Huge thanks to Doug for letting me drive to the Rock Store and yelling at me to drive faster and stop using the breaks!
I am looking forward to getting the right car for me and joining you all as a seven owner.
best,
Paul

Wait a minute! When Doug let me drive his car, he kept telling me to slow down :p
Nice to meet you Paul, good luck with your search

I'm in La Jolla if you fancy a southern excursion. Also, Rodrigo L is nearby and has a car or two "coming back to life" that would be worth a look. And Dave L has another 7 in San Diego that is available. Good luck!!
