I have a pristine early (1976) Caterham S3 Super Seven for sale with the original Lotus Twin Cam motor and upgraded five speed transmission. It is British Racing Green with a yellow nose and racing stripe. It has 33,900 miles on the clock and the price is $30,000.

Dave,
Quite a rare beast you have there.
I would suggest posting pictures and bit more detail - Especially things that may be important to a collector - like if the paint is original, the 4 speed is included and all numbers match.

Thanks GWise.
I loaded images on Photobucket but can't seem to get them to appear here. In the meantime, anyone interested may e-mail me directly at dnichols@paisanopub.com for photos of the cherished Seven. It was originally registered in California as a 1970 Lotus but according to the VIN number, I believe it is a 1976 very early Caterham with the coveted Lotus Twin Cam motor.

Just post the link to the photos here. I can then make them appear at the forum.

As I said in my email to you - it looks very nice.
Where is it located?
I will probably be roasted alive for this by the local members, but you may want to try to sell the car in the UK and have it shipped over. With the dollar being as weak as it is now vs. the GBP, you may be able to get a better price over there.

I had the car shipped to my home in Ashland, Oregon where she is safe and snug in a heated garage.
You make a good point, Magnus. Perhaps I should just keep her forever. After all, she's a rare bird.

You make it sound like it's parked in the garage, never to come out. Are you driving the car at all? The more you drive them the more fun they are. Even better if you can get a group of Sevens together.
Where are the obligatory photos of the engine?

Actually Doug, I've been driving the car every day (though I'm in Los Angeles this week). It is truly a blast.
I will post photos of the Lotus Twin Cam motor once I get back up to Oregon this weekend.

Glad to hear that the car is not a garage queen.
Where in LA are you?

Well, as often happens in the magazine business, we had several big fires that I had to put out so Doug and I didn't have the chance to meet up. But we'll try again when I'm back the week of December 13th.

Dave.
I'm confused! Is your Seven in Socal?
I split my time between West LA and Agoura. I'll buy you a beer at the Wood Ranch sometime

Hey John,
I split my time between Agoura Hills (about a mile from Wood Ranch) and Ashland, Oregon (The Seven is at my home in Ashland).
I'd love to have a pint with you. Maybe Doug can show up too. I'll be back down in Agoura the week of December 14th.

Since I'm a long time Super 7 fan but a new owner I'd love to sit down, have a beer or two and chat with both of you.
Let's stay in touch.

Let me know when you'll be in Agoura and we'll try to set up a meeting.
I can sometimes but not always do it on short notice.
I'll also PM you my phone number.

Hopefully your suspension is not set up like this as in up on the tippy toes. Looks like it would if the engine is out but I see air cleaners in the picture.
Otherwise your springs are waaay too long.

Had a blast carvin' the canyons near Mullholland with Doug in his Seven this afternoon. I gave him a tour of the Easyriders offices in Agoura, then we jammed up to the Canyon Grill on Kanan for lunch. After that, we headed over to World Class Motoring in Agoura. They have cool driving gloves and shoes. One thing we learned is that if either of us get any wider in the shoulder, we won't both fit in a Caterham at the same time.
