Last weekend I ran the five mile combined East + West track at Thunderhill. The new west track was designed for Sevens with fast flowing corners, a few very tight u-turns and some dramatic changes in elevation.

I hereby claim the CCC track record at 3:36 seconds. Video here:

Well, it looks like there's a new Sheriff in town. Not you, the track. I really liked that track before but now it'll probably be love. I've already downloaded the pdf to poster-ize and put on my wall in a place of honor next to Miss November... 5 miles long... oh yeah.

You have guaranteed that I'm going up there next year.

Edit: were you using slicks?

No slicks. Three year old R888s. Love 'em. I reckon I have at least another three years left in them, then I'll sell them as lightly used race tires.

This sounds exciting! I'd like to make the journey to Thunderhill and Sears Point, make a long weekend out of it. Does either track have noise limits? My Locost can be a bit loud, which is why I haven't even tried Laguna Seca.

What is wrong with your camera?

Aaron, yes there is a sound limit - don't recall but it's prominently posted on the signup page at NASA. It can't be too bad because there are some noisy cars at the track.

Doug- if you are referring to the video sound quality, it's an adjustment thing. Blame my crew chief for not dealing with it.

I was wondering why it worked longer than 30 seconds. That isn't normal for one of your track cameras.

From this year's NASA events:

Sonoma Noise Limit here (http://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1772)

Thunderhill Noise Limit here (http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/nasa-california-northern-thunderhill-raceway-park-club-race-1774#.VAhsf2OwTu0)

Measured driver's right. Both shown as 101 dbA.

Interestingly, there's a sound limit for the 25 hours, shown on the rules PDF as 95 dbA. Makes me wonder. Perhaps loud V8s curdle the milk whilst it's still in the udder.
